A Year in Review - A Letter From Tommy L. Jackson

June 1, 2021
Today I celebrate another birthday! And I can’t help but think of what a blessing it is to see another year. As I reflect on the past year, I never would have imagined living through a pandemic and a new wave of protest to the country’s racial injustices. For those of us who have experienced great loss during this time, our new normal has presented some challenges. But knowing that how we think about life’s obstacles makes a difference in our outlook. In the midst of it all, I chose to have hope. A hope that includes investing in the children of our communities by providing them with a lifetime of opportunities.
Swimming changed my life and I’ve been grateful to see it make space and provide opportunities to a lot of youth. In the past year I have seen my student-athletes qualify for US Open National Championships, Junior National and this year's Olympic Trials.
I have also been honored with the Jim Ellis Award and as an Inductee into the Georgia Aquatic Hall of Fame.
I am thrilled by these accolades. It is proof that the work we are doing is making a difference. For that, we must continue to do the work and to have hope. With your donations to the Tommy L. Jackson Foundation we can continue to provide student-athletes access to competitive swimming with a focus on academic development, health and physical education.
In honor of my birthday I’m asking you to make a donation to support these efforts. Thank you again for your continued love and support.
Tommy L. Jackson
